Adjacent to the Pierpont area, is a marina community, the Ventura Keys. Like Pierpont, this quaint neighborhood is all about charm and beach-style living. The Keys were planned around water channels that lead out to the Ventura Harbor, so about 300 homes have their own boat docks. The homes range from suburban-style single family homes and duplexes to large luxury homes that boast a marina feel. Home prices can be found between $700,000 and $3,000,000+. Many of these homes were built in the 1960’s, so many have been updated and even torn down to build new homes.
All of the homes in the Ventura Keys are an easy bike ride to the beachside elementary school shared with Pierpont residents, and of course to the beautiful beach and Marina Park. The Ventura Keys and Pierpont communities also share a local shopping center with a Starbucks, Von’s, and the favorite pizza hangout Meridians. And while a great advantage of the Keys is its easy access from the 101 Freeway, once you’ve exited and entered Harbor Boulevard, you feel like you’re miles away from the hustle and bustle of the day.
Residents of the Ventura Keys enjoy the proximity to the Ventura Harbor, a popular attraction for dining, shopping, playing fishing, and boating. This active harbor launches daily boat trips to the Channel Islands, hosts the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center, is home to sailing and yacht clubs, and provides fabulous events like the Pirate Days Festival, Ventura Art Festival and the Ventura Comedy Festival.
Each year around the holidays, is the annual Parade of Lights in which area boats participate by decking their decks with festive lights and spreading holiday cheer throughout the Ventura Harbor; the event says goodnight with spectacular fireworks over the harbor.
Whether you are a boat person, beach person, or just an overall laid back kind of guy, the Ventura keys is sure to have the home for you and your family.
